Dr. Hernán Guadalupe

Co-Founder & Chief Operations Officer

Dr. Hernán Guadalupe is the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Hablamos Islam. A proud Ecuadorian-American, he embraced Islam on September 11, 2001, while pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey. His life-changing spiritual journey marked the beginning of his ongoing commitment to Islamic outreach (dawah) and community education.

Since accepting Islam, Dr. Hernán has actively contributed to dawah efforts through organizations such as WhyIslam, the North Hudson Islamic Educational Center, and Islam.net. In 2005, he founded The PrimeXample Company, a nonprofit dedicated to Islamic awareness and youth empowerment. Through this platform, he has delivered keynote lectures on Islam across numerous universities, including Columbia University, Rutgers, Montclair State, William Paterson University, Temple University, Fordham University, and George Mason University.

His formal Islamic education includes studies at the Islamic Learning Foundation, the American Open University, and Mishkah University. He also spent a year in Cairo, Egypt, where he completed the classical Arabic curriculum at the Fajr Center for the Arabic Language.

In addition to his Islamic pursuits, Dr. Hernán is a full-time engineer with a doctorate in Business Administration from Walden University and a master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park.

He has also taught courses with the National Dawah Academy (NDA), focusing on Dawah to Latinos and Emotional Intelligence (EQ), and with the MAS Reverts Reconnect program, where he offered classes on the Prophetic Emotional Intelligence and Imam Al-Ghazali’s Alchemy of Happiness.
